Old Blue is handformed and handpainted by Marietta artist Marlene Rudginsky. The process of glazing Old Blue includes four firings in the kiln. Because this piece is not made from a mold, it truly is a one of a kind. Marlene credits her inspiration for the babushkas to her growing up as a child in an ethnic neighborhood in Montreal, Canada. Old Blue is fashion after her friend Alexis's Golden Retriever.
